Archaeologists Really Dig It!: 2nd Grade CEU
How do we know about people and places of the past? Archaeology is a relatively new field in science and really became popular in the last century when archaeologists began digging through the layers of the ancient Egyptian empire. Archaeologists dig into the layers of the Earth systematically to discover what secrets remain from past cultures. During this unit, students examine the tools and processes of the archaeologist and use their best detective skills to recover, document, and analyze artifacts. At the conclusion of the unit, students set up a museum to display their findings.
