Revolutionary Perspectives
Let's take a look at the Revolutionary War from different points of view. How might the views of a plantation owner, woman, slave, blacksmith, minister, black man, or doctor be different? Could people within these same groups have different ideas about the war? What factors might cause them to feel one way or another? This unit aims to help students think through these questions and challenges them to look at the "facts" of the war through another lens.
End of Unit Project: We have been discussing perspectives, and the differences between the loyalists and the patriots and have learned that the terms "patriot" and "traitor" could have been used to describe both parties. In addition, we have been experiencing Revolutionary times through the life of Johnny Tremain. Now it's time to use all that knowledge!
